輕量化:相比傳統PP或ABS都能再有至少30%-50%的減重,產品壁厚可以在滿足同等性能的前提下做到更薄。大眾集團在歐洲的VDI年會上主動推介木纖維材料,僅內飾部分就減重104公斤。 Lightweight: compared to traditional PP or ABS ,it can have at least 30% -50% of weight reduce. The product can has a thinner wall thickness while meet the same performance under the same premise. Volkswagen Group initiative recommend wood fiber material in VDI annual meeting of Europe, only the interior part can lose weight of 104 kg.

這種可再生材料在汽車行業的應用有廣闊的前景。不僅在各項性能(如吸音隔音性能, 減重,成型性能)跟塑料相比有很大的優勢,木纖維氈可以作為汽車行業各種零部件的 背板和支撐骨架。
這種木纖維氈的原料是木頭和不含甲醛的酚醛樹脂或丙烯酸樹脂,主要成分是80%的木纖維,20%的合成纖維和膠黏劑。纖維氈的克重可以做到面密度800g/㎡到2800g/㎡之間,幅度最大可以做到2550mm。
